Cafe Alfredo is the latest restaurant opened by Chef Alfredo, who is well-known
in Naples for outstanding Italian cuisine. Chef Alfredo has over 40 years of
restaurant experience - starting in Rome,Italy when he was only 14 years old and
continuing in New York, Maryland, Connecticut and finally Naples. We are a
casual-elegant restaurant with a full bar, indoor/outdoor bar area and patio
Our menu includes homemade pasta, chicken, veal and nightly dinner
specials. The bar is open daily at 3pm, with specials from 3pm to 6pm, Power
Hour is from 5pm to 6pm when drinks and appetizers are half price. Dinner is served Monday - Saturday from 5 - 10 pm and
Sunday from 4 - 9 pm. Live entertainment on Thursday evenings from 6 - 8:30 pm.
We have a full bar and offer a gluten free menu.

What's more comforting than Italian food?
One of the new kids on the block is Cafe Alfredo in the Galleria Shoppes at
Vanderbilt at Airport-Pulling and Vanderbilt Beach roads. Cafe Alfredo, in the
former home of Pizzaiolis, is at the far north corner of the shopping center.
Home to soaring ceilings, rustic colors and a relaxed atmosphere, Cafe Alfredo
is romantic and authentic. Owner Alfredo Bajraktarevic heads a staff that
includes Executive Chef Matteo Hanaman and Bajraktarevic's cousin, Gino
Bajraktarevic, a former restaurateur himself. The sheer love of food that these
three men share is infectious, and diners reflect the collective energy of such
astute guardians of Italian cuisine. All are jovial souls who seem to relish
communicating with guests.
It's not unusual for Gino to shake hands with diners as they come through the
door for the first time.
Bajraktarevic, who began cooking at age 14 in Rome, also is one of the owners of
the Italian Panevino Ristorante, which opened more than a dozen years ago in the
Marketplace at Pelican Bay in Naples. His new sister restaurant that bears his
name, and which he operates with his wife, Tina, also features Northern Italian
cuisine. And at 3,600 square feet, there is plenty of elbow room for the full
open-air bar and open kitchen. The fire in the enormous pizza oven adds to the
ambience that locals take full advantage of for happy hour and romantic dinners.
At first, the menu can be overwhelming because there are so many choices. And
while everything was enticing, we relied on a little help from our new friend,
Gino, to get us started. If you're smart, you'll listen to his recommendations.
While everything we ordered was flavorful and fresh, the dishes he recommended
sent our taste buds to the stratosphere.
For starters, Cafe Alfredo's version of clams casino wasn't just out of
this world - it was out of this galaxy: garlicky and made with crispy pancetta
and breadcrumbs. The crabcake, which also was good, is served with a
sauce that has a bit of a kick.
The Cafe Alfredo personal pizza is another good choice for a shared table
appetizer. One of the most flavorful, and also the simplest, was the white pizza
with ricotta, mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Our neighboring table
actually shared some of their pizza with us, which we traded for a bite of our
Pasta with mushrooms and brown sauce doesn't look that appealing on a menu. But
we trusted Gino when he said the dish was exceptional. How right he was. With
house-made pappardelle (broad fettuccine), porcini and portobello mushrooms, it
had a zing that made everything after that somewhat unnecessary. The other
dishes were excellent, including the ravioli and osso buco, but it took
a lot of discipline to push that plate of pappardelle and mushrooms
away for the sake of sampling others.
The night was drawing to a close and we hadn't tried the fish course. But that
would soon be remedied by Chef Hanaman, whom we asked to surprise us.
What resulted was a tableside filleted Dover sole in two sauces - one a
divine parsley-lemon butter sauce and the other a Champagne-orange concoction.
Both were outstanding - fresh and vibrant. Cue the swoon. The restaurant
features a fish of the day, so go prepared to try whatever is fresh on the menu
for that day.
Picking up on the table's obvious appreciation for everything orange, Chef
Hanaman suggested his scrumptious orange panna cotta, which is an
Italian cooked cream. What an end to the evening.
By: Tim Aten Cafe Alfredo is now open in the former location of Pizzaiolis at the Galleria Shoppes at Vanderbilt, 2359 Vanderbilt Beach Road, in North Naples. Although its name evokes a creamy pasta sauce, the local restaurant is named for Chef Alfredo Bajraktarevic, who co-owns the cafe with his wife, Tina.
Bajraktarevic, whose 40-year restaurant career began at age 14 in Rome, Italy, also is the founding chef and still co-owns Panevino Ristorante, a northern Italian restaurant that opened in 1996 in Marketplace at Pelican Bay. Cafe Alfredo will specialize in authentic northern Italian cuisine, as well, featuring fresh pastas and wood-fired pizzas. The 3,600-square-foot restaurant includes a full bar and an open kitchen with a prominent pizza oven.
Outdoor seating is available for dinner in the front, and for quiet cocktails on the east side of the family friendly, casual restaurant.
“It’s going to have a unique atmosphere,” said Tina Bajraktarevic. “We want it to be fun and we want it to be relaxing.”
Cafe Alfredo, located on the northwest corner of Airport-Pulling and Vanderbilt Beach roads, is open daily 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch, 4 p.m. for cocktails, and 5 p.m. for dinner.
